Tuesday, August 19th, 2014

Something classic can be redefined with the right design. As in the classic brick federation house, an outdated home can rapidly become a ravishing beauty. Generating lasting beauty for modern family living, LSA Architects re-imagined this home in Melbourne as a contemporary haven of decorating a classic shell. Staying on top of the brief – “Enhance open space and add light whilst paying homage to the original era of the home through the choice of classic lines and materials” – the creative architectural studio classic brick Federation turned the house into an example of modern living spaces. Did you know that classic federation brick house becoming one of popular home design today? They assessed that something classic can gives comfort and serenity amid the family.

By re-shaping the floor-plan to create a seamless flow between public spaces, LSA Architects imagined the sub-urban home in Malvern as accommodating a growing family of five. When opening the door we were welcomed by an entrance hall. Rooms open to make the family feel free and inspired. Indefinitely as they are connected to the outdoor patio, living room and kitchen. Through large sliding glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows natural light collected. Large glass windows were left without curtains, so that residents can see the view out, but in the family room and the bedroom is no longer curtain to maintain their privacy. Decorative deliberately chosen to highlight the color of soft colors and some furniture floor is black. Photographed by John Wheatley of Creative UA, the contemporary renovation captures the essence of comfortable living. Dominance wood floors, white walls and large windows make this home feels spacious and integrated with nature. Adjustments to the private areas were carefully designed to express relaxation – the master bedroom was fitted with a new dressing room and en-suite. Materials like the marble in the bathroom and kitchen, wooden floors and paneling create a harmonious collection of interior and exterior living spaces updated to the needs of a modern family.
